MCAS Testing this week

MCAS Testing this week

Hello,

I think we have turned the curve and are squarely in Spring as we enter our third week of May.  Seasonal temps and sun coming up and a week full of activities from Math MCAS, Credit for Life Fair for Seniors, the Spring Musical and Stress Less Day.  Add in a full schedule of Athletics and it is a fun and busy week with something for everyone!

Our Seniors enter their last full week of their high school career.  It is a time with much emotion.  Please remember that your job is not quite done and the ultimate goal is to reach the finishing line of graduation and receive a diploma on June 3.  Keep focused, be smart, be safe and make good decisions!

With all the activity students still need to keep focused and effectively manage their academics.  Consistent communication with teachers, routine checks of power school and strategic and meaningful use of the FLEX block are strongly encouraged to best support learning and academic success.

Have a great week!

STRESS LESS DAY /  All students

Next Friday, May 20, we are continuing with a new  tradition of hosting Stress Less Day at Stoneham High School. Students will have the opportunity to enjoy a stress-free day of community building and fun activities. There will be arts, crafts, movies, video games, and, for the first time, a voluntary throwback to Field Day competitions. There will be prizes given out throughout the day including gift cards and free t-shirts.

Students should check their email for the activities and session details. Please do not select an activity for session 2 if you are signing up for a double session. Adaptive Scheduler has been open for registration since FLEX on Friday, 5/13, and will remain open until Monday, 5/16.

Don’t be stressed though, there are no limits on how many people can participate in each activity, so just make sure you sign up by Monday.

Attached is the activity list with descriptions. On Adaptive Scheduler, Session 1 Activities will be denoted as F Block, Session 2 as G Block, and Session 3 as Flex.

As the day gets closer, we will let you know more about schedules, etc.

Hope you had a great weekend!
