Noises Off Play- 12/9-12/11

PRINTER FRIENDLY VERSION

December 4, 2022

Hello,

Hats off and great job to our Fall Student Athletes and their sport teams for a positive and successful Fall Sports Season.   Your commitment to academic and athletic success and achievement is noticed and appreciated as is your representation of Stoneham High School through your level of competitive spirit and high standards of sportsmanship.  Thank you SHS Boys and Girls Soccer for a successful run to the State Final Four and to Football for their success and taking us on the ride to the State Finals at Gillette Stadium.  Spartan Pride!

This week brings us the Drama Club Fall production, Noises Off, with evening shows on Friday and Saturday at 7pm and a matinee on Sunday at 2pm.  Further details are provided below.  The Drama Club has been hard at work with set and costume design, audio and technical preparation and play rehearsals.  It is sure to be an impressive and entertaining show.

We are nearing the last weeks of the Second Quarter and conclusion of the First Semester.  These few weeks before the upcoming Holiday Vacation are a great opportunity for students to assess their current academic status and best position themselves for a successful completion of the grading quarter.  Students should speak with their teachers to address any academic or grade concerns and to work together to develop a specific plan.  Students are encouraged to effectively utilize their FLEX block opportunities to support their learning and academic success.

There is a lot going on in a busy time of the year, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding your student/s.

Here’s to a good week ahead with the Fall Show, first games for our Winter Sport Season and the much anticipated premier of the 2022-2023 Lip Dub this Friday during FLEX.  Go Spartans!

Best,

Bryan Lombardi

Noises Off

·  Fri 12/9 @ 7pm

·  Sat 12/10 @ 7pm

·  Sun 12/11 @ 2pm

Synopsis:

This play-within-a-play captures a touring theater troupe’s production of the new play Nothing On in three stages: dress rehearsal, the opening performance, and a performance towards the end of an exhausting run. We are given a window into the inner workings of theater behind the scenes, progressing from flubbed lines and missed cues in the dress rehearsal to growing friction between cast members in the final performance. Brimming with slapstick comedy, Noises Off is a delightful backstage farce, complete with slamming doors, falling trousers, backstage romances and plenty of sardines.

Student Parking / Winter driving / Student Drop Off & Pick Up

·  Student Parking

o Unfortunately we have reached our student parking capacity, there are no more available student parking spaces.  At this time Student Parking is closed for any new drivers.

o Non-registered drivers are not permitted to park on school grounds and any violators are subject to towing at the cost of the vehicle owner.

·  Driving

o As we enter the Winter months I remind parents and student drivers to be extra cautious and more aware to follow our posted and established parking and driving routes.  Winter weather impacts road conditions and visibility and adhering to established routes and expectations will only help in maintaining an efficient and safe traffic process.

·  Student Drop Off & Pick Up

o Please remember that student drop off and pick up is required in the designated Drop Off  / Pick Up Area in the lower parking lot. The Drop Off  / Pick Up Area consists of white lined marked space before and after the staircase.  Please help with traffic flow by having your student exit or enter the car at any time your vehicle is stopped between the lines of the designated Drop Off  / Pick Up Area.

§ Student drop off / pick up in the upper parking lot, closest to the school, is not a designated Drop Off / Pick Up Area and is only for those individuals who have a physical necessity.
