June 11, 2023

Good evening,

I hope this message finds you relaxed and ready for Summer, because we are here!  We have reached our final two days of the 2023 - 2024 school year.  Student’s, excluding those with any make-ups, have three remaining final exams over the next two days.  Our last day of school is Tuesday, June 13.

On behalf of the Stoneham High School Faculty, I want to thank our students and their households for a positive and successful year.  Your participation and investment in your education, the learning process and academic opportunities is, at the core, the essence of Stoneham High School.

Please notice the section below for Summer hours and school access changes.

We wish you a restful, fun, healthy and safe Summer Vacation.

2023 - 2024 Course Scheduling / Courses  / Contact

Building an academic course schedule that meets all student learning needs, course requests and graduation requirements is a lengthy and complex process.  At times decisions and choices involving students are required.  School Counselors will contact students / households if ever a decision is required regarding a course/s  that are a graduation requirement.

During the course selection process all students selected alternate courses to be used as backup / alternate courses in cases when a first choice course is unable to be scheduled.  In situations where conflicts occur with courses that are not required for graduation, as detailed in the Program of Studies, or are elective based, course alternatives will be utilized.  In these situations School Counselors will not contact students / households.

Academic course schedules for the 2023 - 2024 school year will be made available during the week of August 14, 2023.

Students are responsible for the safety, security and care of their Chromebook and charger.

Students should not wait until the start of the 2023-2024 school year to report any needed services.

If a student has a need for any repair work at any time between now and the start of the 2023-2024 school year they should email helpdesk@stonehamschools.org

Drivers / Parking Lot:  Follow Traffic Patterns / 15 MPH or less driving speed

This is a reminder of the expectation for all drivers to follow the designated traffic routes and patterns, regardless of the time of day or how full or empty the parking lot.

Drivers are not to cut through the parking lot crossing over parking spaces.  Drivers must follow the designated traffic routes.

Cutting through the parking lot only causes confusion to other drivers and pedestrians and creates an unsafe environment.

Drivers are also reminded that driving speeds on SHS grounds is 15 MPH or less.

Let’s all work together to create an efficient and safe driving and parking lot for our school community

Building Security / School Doors / Entrance and Exit

A reminder that all school external doors are locked and secure for the duration of the school day, 8:15am - 2:50pm.  Exit and entrance during the school  day is only through the Main Lobby Entrance.

All school visitors must enter and exit through the Main Entrance Doors.

Students found entering or exiting any exterior school door other than the Main Entrance during school day hours will receive disciplinary action.

A secure physical space is an essential component for school safety and security.  We all play a role in school safety and compliance of this policy is essential.  We thank you for your support.
