Sunday Scoop!

Good Afternoon South Families,

Happy Long Weekend! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and can take advantage of the extra day off to relax and regroup. Fall is a very busy time of year and that downtime for both students and families is important.

South students have all settled into our routines and expectations and learning is happening each minute of the day.  Learning occurs through various methods, including active engagement in the classroom, personalized instruction, real-world experiences, and  through mistakes. We know our students will make mistakes and share this with them often. Making mistakes in school is a normal and crucial part of the learning process, fostering resilience, mental flexibility, and deeper understanding when approached correctly. We encourage them to share their ideas and thoughts with their peers and with us.  The goal is for every student to have opportunities to learn something new, a process that can be supported through strategies like differentiated instruction and integrated learning, which bridge the gap between academic subjects and real-world application.
