Sunday Scoop!

Good Afternoon, 

 

What a week! Our conferences were really well attended which makes us feel like our students are well supported at home so thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to learn about how your child is doing in their classroom.  

Also, the PTO Raffle baskets were a huge hit at conferences so it sounds like the South PTO is going to be able to purchase a GaGa Pit for our students to use at recess this Spring! We are really excited about this and know that our students are going to be so excited about having a Gaga Pit at their school! 

I think our students really enjoyed the Book Fair this past week. It is always fun to hear how excited they are about a book they picked out all on their own. Thank you to the South PTO and all of our South Families who helped plan, set up, volunteer at the Book Fair and pack up the Book Fair. It is a big undertaking and without everyone's support we would never be able to bring the event into our school. 

 

Important Upcoming Events and Dates:

 

South Theme Day starts Monday: Holiday Spirit Week

 

Apparel Order Pickup: Please pick up your ordered spirit wear/apparel at the Front Office during school hours no later than Friday, December 19th.

 

Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificates: These will be sent home with students in their backpacks sometime this week (the week of 12/15).

Dining for a Cause: Join us for our next fundraiser at Charlie's on Main on Tuesday, December 16th, 4-8pm! Mention "South School" when ordering. This applies for dine in, take out, or delivery!

Holiday Book Shopping: Don't miss our final fundraiser for 2025 on Sunday, December 21st from 1pm-4pm at Book Oasis! A percentage of all purchases will benefit the PTO. Please present the flyer at check out - flyers will go home in backpacks this week but if you missed it: Book Flyer Here

I can’t thank you enough for all of your support, kind words and overall involvement in South and making our students feel so valued and cared for. It means a lot to us and I know our students can feel how much everyone is rooting for them! I hope that you have a wonderful holiday season with family and friends. Although we are on break for two full weeks I check email regularly so if anything comes up or you need anything please don’t hesitate to email and I will get back to you. 

 

This will be the last Sunday Scoop of 2025. I will not be sharing another Sunday Scoop until Sunday, January 11th. I will post on Facebook and Instagram reminding you to return your children to school on Monday, January 5th I promise!
